Angele Poitras - CDDA - Bring it to the Surface

Angele Poitras

Meet Angele Poitras, a featured speaker with CDDA’s Bring It To the Surface. Angele also worked closely with CDDA and its members to design the original program, she has been with us for over 4 years.

She is regarded as a SME on remote and FIFO work and mental health, and has trained and presented to hundreds of persons in remote sites. Her speaking/training style has been described as very relaxed, engaging and light hearted and very respectful of audiences. Angele believes you “only get one chance to make someone feel comfortable talking about neck up safety and making it seem as natural as neck down!”

Angele is a CMHA Certified Health and Safety advisor, has a certificate in Mental Health First Aid, 9 years experience in designing and delivering mental health programming to male populated, high risk industries. Her personal belief is that it is okay not to be okay, but we need tools to make sure we can get back to okay again.

Danalie Meyer

Danalie Meyer

Danalie is a Registered Kinesiologist and founder of Northern Roots Health Hub, born and raised in Northern Ontario, where she supports mining crews with practical, evidence-based movement and injury-prevention strategies. Her work addresses the physical toll of mining — long shifts, repetitive strain, fatigue — before it becomes chronic pain or lost time, using assessment tools like the Functional Movement Screen to catch limitations early. Danalie’s philosophy is that supporting the people who power the North means investing in the whole person, not just treating injuries after they happen.: When workers feel strong and pain-free, they show up with more energy, more confidence, and a greater sense of control over their well-being.

Shannon Nault

Shannon brings more than a decade of Human Resources experience in the drilling and resource sectors, spanning employee relations, workforce management, and organizational development. She began her HR career at Boart Longyear, spending seven years supporting a diverse workforce, and joined Foraco Canada in 2017, where she has become a trusted advisor known for her professionalism, integrity, and understanding of both people and operations.

Before moving into HR, Shannon served her community as a 911 Dispatcher and Special Constable with the New Liskeard Police Service, and volunteered for over 10 years with the Ontario Provincial Police Auxiliary — experience that sharpened her instincts for communication, crisis response, and decision-making under pressure.

A widow and devoted mother, Shannon speaks openly about resilience. Her belief is that strong workplaces are built by people who feel supported through every part of their lives, not just the working hours.
