The Canadian Diamond Drilling Association is pleased to recognize the recipients of the 2025 CDDA Quarterly and Year-End Safety Awards, formally recognized at the 81st CDDA AGM & Convention. 
Our Annual and Quarter Safety awards are presented annually to companies that have achieved the lowest accident frequency within their respective categories, as well as one company that has excelled in reducing their accident frequency throughout the year.
Every CDDA member drilling company is eligible to qualify for an annual or quarter award provided that the company has submitted their safety statistics to the CDDA office through the members portal for the particular quarter and every quarter of the qualifying year for annual awards; and has not experienced a fatality during the qualifying year.
The quarter and annual Surface and Underground Safety Awards are divided into three classes based on the number of hours worked during the qualifying year:
- Class A – Over 100,000 hours: Awarded to the company with the lowest accident frequency in its class, provided the frequency is equal to or below the national average.
- Class B – 30,000 to 100,000 hours: Awarded to the company with the lowest accident frequency in its class, provided the frequency is equal to or below the national average.
- Class C – Under 30,000 hours: Awarded to the company with the lowest accident frequency in its class, provided the frequency is equal to or below the national average.
These criteria apply to both Surface and Underground operations.
The CDDA also presents the Henry Skowronski Memorial Award to the company that achieves the greatest percentage reduction in accident frequency, provided its accident frequency is equal to or below the national average and the company has attained a minimum of 100,000 hours worked. Companies that do not attain the required hours during the qualifying year may carry their hours back in order to qualify. As with all award categories, a fatality during the qualifying year disqualifies a company from consideration.Without further a due please see below winners this year:

Henry Skowronski Memorial Award
The CDDA is also proud to recognize Rodren Drilling Ltd. as the recipient of the 2025 Henry Skowronski Memorial Award. Rodren Drilling Ltd.’s achievement reflects a strong commitment to continuous improvement and to advancing safer practices across its operations.

The CDDA congratulates every company recognized through the quarterly awards and at our 81st Annual General Meeting and Convention. Strong safety performance is the result of a collective commitment from management, health and safety professionals, supervisors, drillers, helpers and everyone who supports drilling operations.
Quarterly safety reporting also plays an important role in allowing the CDDA to monitor industry performance, recognize achievement and continue promoting a strong safety culture across the industry.
Member drilling companies are encouraged to continue submitting their hours and safety statistics through the CDDA’s online reporting portal. Companies that are not currently reporting or require assistance can contact office@cdda.ca to get started.
