Rémi St-Pierre is recognized for promoting and prioritizing safety in the industry with his leadership and employee support approach. Our Membership Services Coordinator recently connected with him to highlight his contributions and acknowledge his continued support of the Canadian Diamond Drilling Association.
Rémi St-Pierre has worked in human resources for many years, first in the forestry sector and later in mineral exploration. His career path has allowed him to develop a hands-on approach rooted in listening and understanding the realities faced by teams in the field.
Today, as Human Resources Director at Chibougamau Diamond Drilling, he promotes values of respect, collaboration, and empathy, with the goal of building safe, engaging workplaces where everyone can reach their full potential.
Promoting and Prioritizing Safety
Safety is an integral part of their operations and relies above all on teamwork. Rémi ensures that safety is embedded at every stage of operations by:
- implementing clear policies and ongoing training tailored to field realities.
- fostering a prevention-focused culture where each team member feels responsible for collective safety and is encouraged to report risks or suggest improvements.
- closely monitoring health and safety performance indicators to quickly identify issues and implement corrective actions.
For him, a high-performing company is first and foremost a safe company and achieving this depends on collaboration and the commitment of all.
