The Canadian Diamond Drilling Association is proud to feature Robert Fleming of Team Drilling as our next Mentor Spotlight. With over four decades of experience in the drilling industry, Robert brings a wealth of practical knowledge, leadership, and insight to the association and its members.
Robert began his drilling career with Boart Longyear in Vancouver, B.C., where he steadily progressed through a wide range of roles. Over his 40+ years in the industry, he has worked as a Helper, moved through operational and supervisory positions, and ultimately served as General Manager of the Coring Division and the Energy Division. His experience spans both domestic and international contracts, giving him a broad perspective on industry best practices, safety standards, and client expectations across diverse regions and project types.
Today, Robert is the President, CEO, and shareholder of Team Drilling LP, based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Under his leadership, Team Drilling has grown into a respected contractor known for its focus on safety, innovation, and strong client relationships. Robert’s strategic vision and hands-on understanding of field operations help ensure that safety, training, and technical excellence remain at the forefront of the company’s culture.
As a CDDA Board Member and active participant on the Safety & Technical Committee, Robert plays a key role in advancing industry standards and supporting the next generation of drillers. He is a strong advocate for continuous improvement, whether that means refining safe work procedures, encouraging professional development, or sharing lessons learned from his decades of experience.
