The Canadian Diamond Drilling Association 76th Annual General Meeting and Convention is fast approaching. Only 58 days until all of our members are together again! Our keynote speaker, Candace Carnahan, will be the first speaker at this years’ convention, “Candace is the leading light on enhancing safety cultures within organizations. She knows first-hand how a lack of safety in the workplace can change lives forever.” Candace works globally with safety-focused companies, which will surely promote an engaging and thought-provoking discussion at this years’ convention. This will offer an exclusive opportunity for our industry to continue working towards our commitment to maintaining standards and safety in the industry.
In addition to Candace’s insightful talk on safety, Leading industry partners from Epiroc, Team Drilling, BoartLongyear, and other leading contractors, suppliers, trainers, and manufacturers in the industry will give technical talks that will address various topics related to the industries’ innovative growth potential, standards, and safety concerns. The speakers’ names and topics will be announced in an upcoming CDDA Newsletter.
Our convention delegates and companions will be staying at the Sheraton Hotel in St.John’s, Newfoundland. The Sheraton offers the finest amenities and impeccable service, making it the perfect place to host our annual convention and meeting. The convention will kick off on June 2nd, with a Deep Sea Fishing Tour, offering our members the unique opportunity to fish for world-class sea run brown trout, Atlantic salmon, eastern brook trout and deep-sea species including codfish with experienced and cordial licensed guides.
After the tour, we will kick off the St.John’s Pub Crawl, all of the delegates and companions will travel to various venues on the famous George Street in St.John’s with the last location hosting a live band. Everyone knows that St.John’s Newfoundland is famous for its live music and entertainment. On Monday evening, all of the members and delegates will be invited to put on their plaid shirts and join us at our first ever Kitchen Party! The event will be Newfoundland themed with a live band, we can’t wait to announce the act! Be sure to stay tuned for that exciting announcement!
