FEEDBACK REQUEST
The Canadian Diamond Drilling Association and the Global Exploration Drilling Standard Working Group are seeking your feedback on the Global Exploration Drilling Standard Draft.

Executive Summary
The Global Exploration Drilling Standard is an industry-supported initiative to define a common minimum baseline of critical controls and performance expectations for exploration drilling activities that present fatality, permanent disability or life-altering injury potential.
The standard will be outcome-based, technology-neutral and globally applicable. It will define what must be achieved to control critical risks, while allowing mining companies, exploration companies, drilling contractors and OEMs to determine the most appropriate method or technology for their operating context.
The initial scope is intentionally limited to exploration drilling. This keeps the first deliverable achievable, avoids scope creep and provides a foundation for future expansion if the industry chooses to address additional drilling disciplines in later phases.

Standard Overview
The purpose of the Global Exploration Drilling Standard is to define a common baseline of health and safety requirements for exploration drilling activities, with a specific focus on controls that prevent fatalities and serious injuries.
The standard is intended to improve consistency across mining companies, exploration companies, drilling contractors, OEMs and industry associations, while recognizing that local regulatory or company requirements may be more stringent and will prevail where applicable.
To establish a globally recognized minimum standard for exploration drilling that reduces unnecessary variability in critical risk controls and helps ensure every exploration drilling worker returns home healthy and safe, regardless of employer, equipment manufacturer or operating jurisdiction.
