CDDA: Bring it to the Surface Update

  • July 19, 2024
  • Ashley Leduc
  • Updates

In recent years, mental health in the workplace has gained significant attention in the diamond drilling and mining industry. At the Canadian Diamond Drilling Association, we are committed to BRING IT TO THE SURFACE. Our mission is to foster a culture where our member companies have employees who feel empowered to openly discuss their mental health concerns.

We urge our members to take a genuine approach by asking their colleagues the simple yet profound question, “How Are You?” We encourage them to listen actively and provide support when needed, and to take action when someone is not okay.

We are thrilled with the positive response from our members since launching this initiative. Many have shared that their companies are now equipped with the necessary resources to guide employees on where to seek help when they need it.

We will be launching a supervisory training program soon and will continue to promote the message encouraging workers to ‘Bring it to the Surface’. As it is okay not to be okay, we just don’t want anyone to feel stuck in that position, we want to encourage them to seek help and we want our members to foster a company culture where employees feel safe to speak to their employers.

Take The Pledge

Together we can start the conversation and commit to further effort, because just like the minerals we extract, nothing happens if we don’t bring it to the surface.

I will support Bring it to the Surface by:

  • Educating myself on mental health and wellness
  • Talking and sharing with others to create an open environment for discussion
  • Supporting CDDA and our industry as we move forward
Take the Pledge
